Another Perspective of Keukenhof

As you know, I went to Keukenhof last week with my friend Brenda.  But as it is tulip season and we had more visitors this week, there was no getting around seeing it yet again.  However, don’t get me wrong – I wanted to see it again.  This is not a painstaking kind of thing for me.  Tulips are my favorite flower and while there are certainly other flowers on display at Keukenhof, the vast majority are tulips.  Not to mention that Keukenhof is a lovely place to just take a nice leisurely walk with friends while enjoying the sights and smells of 7 million flowers in bloom. So it was no skin off my back to go see them again with our friends, the Giddys.

Not to mention, this time I was able to see Keukenhof from a different perspective.  In addition to their being more flowers in bloom this week than last week, the weather was much more favorable than what I’d as well.  This meant actually seeing more of the gardens than I had seen with Brenda.  And finally, I had my two favorite “models” for picture taking 😉

And so I felt that while last week my sole focus was on taking photos of the flowers, this week, it was how best to take pictures of my (gorgeous) children with the flowers in the background.  You’ll have to let me know what you think…

And the only other image you will see of a Giddy - but this picture was so adorable. I don't know when Aidan got to be so grown up!! He was a great helper with the little kids this weekend!

There was a petting zoo at Keukenhof. And there were pigs. And the pigs were… well, you can see what they were doing. Aidan described it as a “skinny sausage” and was pretty grossed out. I don’t think he saw the humor in using the word sausage as much as I did since I don’t think he knows sausage comes from pigs.

So what do you think?  A totally different perspective on Keukenhof than my last entry?  Wait until you see our drive through Noordoostpolder – that’s coming next!!

  1. Wow, looks like so awesome weather. I visited the garden in March so I could only visit the indoor gardens. You are lucky to visit it while full bloom. Thanks for sharing 🙂 Looks great.
