A (re) Introduction to The Expat Chronicles

I’m sure some of you are wondering, “why in the world is she reintroducing her blog?”, especially after 7 years of writing.  It’s simple really. I’m taking a blogging course and each day I’m given an assignment to refine and update my skill set when it comes to blogging. Today’s assignment – introduce yourself and your blog.  It’s harder than it seems!  So here goes!

Welcome to the Expat Chronicles!  If you’ve been following this blog for the last 7 years, thanks for sticking with me through the ups, downs and all the zig zagging around that I do.  If you are new to this page, let me tell you a little bit about us.

We’re an expat family hailing from Boston, MA in the good ‘ole USA.  Just about 7 years ago we decided to make a big life change and move our little family of 4 (and our 2 labradors) to Barcelona, Spain.  It was supposed to be a 2 year adventure.  “Supposed to be” are the key words here.  What started off as 2 years has turned into so much more. And almost 7 years later (and another country move), I’m still writing about it.

You’ll find all kinds of things here – a lot about travel.  We love to travel.  About what it’s like being an expat – the challenges, the relationships and more.  And you’ll also see some traditions and festivals thrown in too.  What better way to experience a new country than through it’s celebrations?

I write about the good, the bad and the ugly (hopefully not too much of that!) as we take a chance on taking the road less traveled.  It’s been an adventure that none of us expected and has opened the doors of the world to us in ways that we never imagined. From Boston to Barcelona to Amsterdam, we’re living a life less ordinary, full of challenges and adventure.

So if you’ve been a follower for all of these years, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And if you are new to the Expat Chronicles, I hope you’ll enjoy following our adventures as we experience life of expats and third culture kids.

Julie
