New Years 2014 in Lucerne

We’ve been incredibly lucky to celebrate the new year in different places over the last few years.  From Lanzarote (Spain) to the French Pyrenees and now in Switzerland.  It’s not a bad life.  And when the new year comes, it’s nice to reflect on all that’s happened over the past 365 days and to come up with an idea of what you’d like to see over the upcoming 365. Skiing the Swiss Alps

Most skiers who read that title would probably be envious that we have been skiing in the Swiss Alps. Of all the Alps, the majority of the big ones are in Switzlerland and I’m sure that’s part of the reason they are so famous say compared to the Italian Alps.  A little fun fact for you courtesy of my “friend” wikipedia “The Alps cover 65% of Switzerland’s surface area, making it one of the most alpine countries.  Despite the fact that Switzerland covers only 14% of the Alps total area, many alpine four thousanders (48 of 82) are located in the Swiss Alps and the remaining few are within 20 km of the country’s border.”. Race to the Finish!

Planes, trains, automobiles (ok, a bus) and… toboggans??  We are off on yet another amazing adventure!  This time it’s to Luzern, Switzerland for a little snow and skiing. After an almost 60 degree Christmas in Barcelona, it was time to get a little of that holiday spirit in our lives. And where better than the mountains of Switzerland.

The flight was my best in a very long time. No near panic attacks and total smooth sailing. A relief as we have 2 more trips over the next 6 weeks and hopefully as a result of this flight, I will be slightly less stressed.
